Some Languages Have No Grammar

Grammar for linguists is a set of rules which speakers of the language follow when they speak. The rules are: -     The possible forms of words

-          The way bits of words can be put together

-          The way words are put together to make longer units

-          Rules about meaning

All known human languages have verbs and nouns, so they have grammar. Some people say a language doesn’t have grammar, because there is no grammar book. The existence of a grammar book is irrelevant to the question whether the language has grammar. A grammar book can be written for any language, because every language has grammar
